Bird house trellis

We make custom bent wood furniture, arbors, trellises, garden fences/gates, garden and house art and a variety of other items. This page has a variety of items that we make, however, we do make more things than we can show here. The items we make are very difficult to duplicate (some are impossible to duplicate) because of the the raw material. It often looks like the branches we cut are very straight until we get them to the shop. We refer to our pieces as being built to willow-perfect specifications because of the many odd shapes the branches take.

A great deal of time, sweat, creativity, and plain ol' fashioned work goes into bent wood products, whether it be a bent willow chair, bent willow wood rocker, love seat or head-board with intertwined hearts, a bent willow trellis, or bent willow arbors,  First you go out, find and gather the willow.  That in itself is enough to make a grown man whimper.  Once the willow gets back to the shop, the willow needs to be sorted, and sized and the planning begins.  What to build with the sorted willow stock becomes the next step.  Matching the pieces of willow to build a fine, sturdy, aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture can sometimes be a challenge and is always rewarding.

Trish learned to make willow chairs in California in 1999, and brought that knowledge back to
Coeur d'Alene. She and her son Rick started making trellises in 2000 and sold them at the market. Rick moved to the Seattle area in 2002 and Gail joined Trish in 2002. They have been making yard, garden and house art, furniture (indoor and outdoor), trellises, fences arbors and many other interesting things, (including an outdoor shower stall overlooking a lake) ever since.
